This week we took a look at Cover Letters and how to write an effective one. I had known nothing about how to write a good cover letter, let alone what one actually was. The articles we reviewed in class layed out a step-by-step process on how to create a compelling cover letter, that was simple – enough to understand, but with enough detail to communicate the end goal successfully. How do you find that balance between a cover letter that is boring and has no character, and a letter that is too relaxed and nonchalant?
My “aha” moment this week was, well, this week as a whole. I learned so much about an aspect of life that is super important as well as helpful to know. While I do know that the “market” for hiring employers is very competitive, the hiring part is just as important, more specifically what the (hopefully) employee submits to the hirer. What are some of the things that can “make or break” whether or not you are even considered as a possible employee?
