I chose to read the Letter of Note titled “Like all frauds your end is approaching.” It was a letter sent to Martin Luther King by the FBI. They sent the letter because they were fearful of King’s connection to the Communist Party. The letter also included a cassette with “possibly incriminating audio recordings of King with women in various hotel rooms.” The goal of the letter the FBI sent was for King to take his own life–which he did. It was reinforced that the letter did play a role in his suicide by an official investigation in 1976. How did the FBI get these audio recordings?

While I knew that the leadership of King was not sunshine and rainbows, I did not know the sheer amount of incriminating  schemes there were surrounding, as well as involving him. Why is this not talked about? And when it is talked about, why is it so brief and almost brushed over?

This made me truly understand how much damn information is not talked about enough. It is with both the good and the bad. Martin Luther King is admired and respected by so many, yet they have no idea that he was not as virtuous as they think he is.
